Tasting impressions #59: Light APA (mini-cask)

January 25, 2014

APA ended at 4.3 per cent abv. The looks:

Aroma is fruity citrus. Mouthfeel is almost full, soft and round. Initial taste is bitter hops, then malts, and in the finish dry citrus and slight grapefruit. Still very balanced with good drinkability. Half a teaspoon of gypsum seems just about right. Because of the mouthfeel the beer seems bigger than it is and it could be that I’ve stumbled upon a very good mash schedule. Last summer I went off grapefruity ales which seemed to be everywhere around GBBF time but this one is not that bad.
