Tasting impressions #46: Kölsch

June 26, 2013

Finished a bit too high at 4.5 per cent abv. Slightly hazy and most likely will never get a chance to drop bright. The bits showing just below the head are not yeast but tiny bubbles grouped together.

Aroma is fruity. Taste is slightly bitter and slightly malty, nice balance, very crisp and lager-like. SWMBO likes this a lot almost ice-cold, lager-like. It is lager-like but only better – it is ale after all.

A bottle of this beer (amongst some other beers) will hopefully in late July find its way to Arde and his blog.
